This year the Family Arts Festival becomes the Get Creative Family Arts Festival. We've teamed up with BBC Arts' Get Creative campaign, which is helping the nation to unleash its creative side by taking part in craft, dance, music, and many more activities.
So what does this mean for families taking part?
It means that the Festival will include many more opportunities to have a go yourself. Alongside high quality performances from the countries leading artists, there will also be an extensive selection of workshops, classes, demonstrations and opportunities for you to develop your own creative talent.

What activities are on offer?
The Festival has the widest variety of art activities that you can imagine! Making your own abstract artwork in Birmingham; playing with stop-frame animation in Leicester; and the chance to create a song as a family with music experts Soundcastle. There are thousands of events taking place across the country - to find the right one for you this October, have a look at the Festival map or search for an activity near you.
Let us know how you get on!
We want to hear from you, so remember to come back after you've taken part in a Festival activity to let us know how you got on - you could win an iPad mini! You can also send us your photos and take part in more competitions via our Twitter and Facebook pages.
