To launch the Shakespeare Unplugged Festival 2016, the egg opens its doors for a FREE extravaganza of activity to celebrate the brilliant Bard.
As well as a generally merry-festival-party-feel in the egg with mask-making, family-crest creation corner, Shakespearian make-overs with our fabulous fashionista team, a Treasure Hunt (with the chance of winning egg theatre tickets!) and musical entertainmentaplenty in the egg café, there are specific events to take part in during the day, all lead by theatre professionals. All for FREE…

Hammerpuzzle will be running interactive workshops in the Roper Room, inspired by the Bard!

Smell and Spells! Make your own potion…
Age: 5+ welcome (not much room for parents…)
Poisons and potions are the weapons of choice for many of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters. Come along to this immersive workshop where children can make their own potion, either nasty or nice…

Valentine’s Day Masque Ball
Age: ALL WELCOME – bring your mask
As its Valentine’s Day why not join us for our end of day Masked Forest Ball. Make a mask or family crest in the café beforehand or bring your own. There will be dancing and games like you have never experienced before!

Shakespeare Treasure Hunt
Age: Bingo-card picture HUNT – under 6s
Shakespearian quote HUNT – 8+
Starting and ending at the egg, get out and about following clues to help you discover one of Shakespeare’s plays or for younger participants collect all the icons. Completed entries will be put into a prize draw to win 2 tickets for an age appropriate show within the Shakespeare Unplugged Festival.
Maps available at the egg reception from 11am.
Workshops are free but spaces are limited so make sure you book in at egg reception to avoid disappointment.
